Cup of Uji
WHO WE ARE

ABOUT US

Cup of Uji is a non-profit school feeding initiative created in 2011 by Francis Otieno Amonde. The organization was founded in response to the needs observed among public primary school children in Oyugis, Homabay County, who went to school without having eaten at home.

It began with one school, Nyatwere Primary School, and has since expanded to 20 schools in Six counties namely: Nairobi, Kajiado, West Pokot, Kilifi, Homabay, and Laikipia, within plans to feed many more public elementary schools across Kenya.

Cup of Uji provides porridge supplies such as porridge flour and sugar to a select number of schools, leaving school cooks to prepare and serve porridge to all learners on school days. The pupils who are supported are fed for free.
