So, What is Uji?

Uji is the Swahili
word for porridge, pronounced as ‘oo – JEE’

Porridge is a type of hot, often creamy dish made by boiling grains or legumes in milk, water, or a combination of both. It's typically eaten for breakfast but can be enjoyed at any meal.

Common ingredients include oats, rice, barley, or cornmeal. The grains or legumes are cooked until soft and have absorbed most of the liquid.
